At the end of May 2016, the newly appointed Chief Executive Office of Bata Brands SA Switzerland, Mr. Alexis Nasard, visited Zlin. On this occasion accompanied by professor Sáha, the TBU in Zlin rector, he also had the opportunity to see the Centre of Polymer Systems including its laboratory premises.
Within a long lasting international cooperation, a lecture presented by prof. Dr. Mohamed Bakar from Kazimierz Pułaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on the topic "Novel Developments in Polymer Matrix Composites". The lecture given at the Centre of Polymer Systems attracted attention of all staff of the Centre and was visited by colleagues from other parts of the Tomas Bata University too. The lecture was held on 5 May, 2016.
The presentation was given within the Erasmus + programme, organised by assoc .prof. Vladimir Sedlarik, Ph.D.
Tomas Bata University in Zlin is currently recruiting for positions of research and development staff and postdocs to work for the Centre of polymer sytems in Zlín.
- Educated to PhD degree level in natural and technical sciences or equivalent
- Able to work independently and creatively but also actively participate in the work of the research team,
- Must have good knowledge of English,
- Provable results in the area of basic or applied research and experimental development,
- Good command of PC skills (Microsoft Office), command of specialized scientific SW will be advantageous
- Clean moral and civil record
The Ioannes Marcus Marci Spectroscopic Society event “Best original work of young scientists in the field of spectroscopy” took place on 10th December at VŠCHT in Prague. The Center of Polymer Systems at Tomas Bata University in Zlín was represented by Mgr. Jan Vícha, Ph.D. and Ing. Pavel Urbánek, Ph.D in the category of young scientist below 35 years.
From September 10 to September 12, 2014 Professor Debes Bhattacharyya from the University of Auckland will visit Tomas Bata University in Zlin. He is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the founding Director of the Centre for Advanced Composite Materials (CACM) at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He also holds an Adjunct Professor position at Washington State University, Pullman, USA. His current research interest primarily includes the mechanics and manufacturing of composite materials.
