Plastics and technology for society in the 21st century

The content of the program will be to acquaint the listeners with current trends in the field of environmentally friendly polymer materials and technologies on the one hand and, on the other hand, clarify current topics related to plastics in the context of socioeconomic, social and legislative perspectives.

Knowledge:

  • the use of polymer materials in the context of the principles of the circular economy and a responsible approach to the environment;
  • processing technologies including recycling procedures;
  • corresponding legislation;
  • the possibility of an individual or state contribution to solving ecological issues.

Skills:

  • waste sorting processes in the Czech Republic and in the world;
  • processing technologies and recycling procedures;
  • application of recycled materials and their application specifics.

General competences:

  • application of relevant legislation in the context of polymeric materials and technologies;
  • increased resilience against unsubstantiated claims and messages directed at consumers

Form of education: combined, (in 5 thematic blocks of 2 hours each - 2x per month)

Method of completion: colloquium - certificate of completion

Transfer of knowledge from research and development into practice

The content of the program will be to acquaint the listeners with the issue of project cooperation between the academic sector and the application sphere. Part of the program is the area of ​​project support and the use of national and international subsidy titles. The protection of results and management of intellectual property completes the portfolio of the program, which is primarily intended for young researchers and employees in research and development, whether in the academic or private sphere.

Knowledge:

  • definition of technology transfer, types of transfer, meaning of patent information and copyright and industrial law licenses;
  • different types of intellectual property and their legal protection;
  • license agreements, including Creative Commons licenses and citation policies;
  • costs and strategies of foreign protection of technical innovations;
  • legal aspects of cooperation and protection of sensitive information;

Skills:

  • identification and application of models and strategies supporting technology transfer;
  • licensing and transfer of rights, including exclusive and non-exclusive licenses;
  • determining royalty rates and evaluating the uniqueness of inventions;
  • creating and verifying the content of license and transfer agreements;
  • preparation of a structured patent application;
  • identification and use of sources of information on research offers and technology exchanges;
  • correctly contractually treat and protect the shared information.

General competences:

  • application of copyright to employee works
  • strategies for commercialization and protection of intellectual property;
  • application of the principles of intellectual property protection in practice, especially in the context of university research.
