Delegation from Finland visited the Centre of Polymer Systems

On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Centee of Polymer Systems welcomed a delegation from Finland, consisting of representatives from LAB University of Applied Sciences and LUT University. CPS is currently collaborating with LUT University on the CirkArena project, which focuses on biomass processing and the development of materials for removing pollutants from water.

During the visit, Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík, Director of the Centre of Polymer Systems, presented the activities of the center and an overview of current scientific and research projects. Representatives of the Faculty of Management and Economics (TBU in Zlín) also participated in the meeting. The possibilities of expanding cooperation to other research areas and joint projects were discussed.

The program also included a tour of the Centre's laboratories and technological facilities, including a presentation of the new pyrolysis unit. This modern technology enables the decomposition of organic materials without air access, producing mainly gases that can be used as alternative fuels and solid carbonized material.

The Finnish delegation appreciated not only the professional level of the workplace, but also the technological facilities and innovative approach of the CPS team. The new pyrolysis technology aroused great interest and was evaluated as a significant step forward in the field of research and sustainable biomass processing.
