On Friday, January 24, 2025, an opposition review was held at CPS to assess the Final Report of project LTT20010 and the Interim Report of project LUAUS23085, both supported by the INTER-EXCELLENCE I and II programs of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports.

Project LTT20010

Surface-Functionalized Glasses: The Concept of Heterostructured Nanoparticles Inspired by Artificial Photosynthesis, led by Ing. Michal Machovský, Ph.D., in collaboration with the European Centre of Excellence FunGlass at Alexander Dubček University in Trenčín, has achieved the following results:

  1. 11 articles in impact-factor journals (6 in Q1 category),
  2. 9 conferences where project results were presented,
  3. A project proposal submitted in 2024 in the Horizon Europe PathFinder Challenges international call, in collaboration with colleagues from FunGlass,
  4. Two PhD students successfully defended their dissertations thematically linked to the project,
  5. Organization of 5 workshops for knowledge transfer and planning of further project steps.

Project LUAUS23085

Synthesis of Novel Highly Active Metallosilicate Catalysts for Olefin Metathesis, led by Mgr. David Škoda, Ph.D., was launched less than two years ago and will continue for another year and one month. The project has established a prestigious collaboration in the field of heterogeneous catalyst applications for olefin metathesis with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. The research team from CPS and Masaryk University, together with the MIT partner team, has already achieved:

  1. 2 articles in impact-factor journals, one of which (ACS Catalysis) is in the D1 category,
  2. Presentation of results at 2 international conferences,
  3. 3 PhD student internships at MIT, including one six-month stay (also supported by the project Support for International Cooperation, UTB in Zlín),
  4. A project meeting with the American partner at their institution, where further research steps were discussed.
