Zlín, 12 May 2025 – Scientists from Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan visited the Centre of Polymer Systems at Tomas Bata University in Zlín on Monday, 12 May. Accompanied by Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík, they toured the laboratories and engaged in discussions about potential future collaboration in the field of environmental technologies. The visit is part of UTB’s ongoing international cooperation in nature conservation and sustainability.

“We exchanged experiences with our Bhutanese colleagues regarding the implementation of circular economy principles in the area of packaging materials. We identified several common areas of interest that could serve as a basis for further collaboration. Our discussion confirmed that the issue of plastic recycling is a global concern, and that the professional focus of the Centre of Polymer Systems aligns with the global demands of society,” said the centre’s director, Prof. Vladimír Sedlařík.

Royal Thimphu College is a private higher education institution in Thimphu, Bhutan, affiliated with the Royal University. The college has numerous partnerships with universities abroad and is now establishing cooperation with Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
