CPS/UNI Successfully Retains HR Excellence in Research Award
The University Institute / Centre of Polymer Systems (CPS) at Tomas Bata University in Zlín has successfully retained the HR Excellence in Research Award, granted by the European Commission to institutions that actively commit to the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
This award confirms that UNI/CPS creates a high-quality and motivating working environment for researchers, supports transparent recruitment, professional development, and equal opportunities. Retaining the HR Excellence in Research Award is the result of long-term efforts to improve HR processes, communication, and support for the research community.
On 22 September 2025, evaluators from the European Commission visited CPS. They met with the Centre’s management, researchers, academic staff, and students, and conducted interviews to assess progress in human resources management and the working environment, which UNI/CPS has been systematically developing since 2018. The visit resulted in a positive evaluation marked as “Accepted,” allowing the Centre to continue using the HR Excellence in Research logo. The evaluators also recommended further areas for development that CPS will focus on in the coming years to maintain its high standards of care for employees and students.
"The HR Award is not only a recognition for us, but also a commitment to continue developing a high-quality research environment that is attractive to both domestic and international talent," said Prof. Michal Sedlačík, Director of UNI.
The award also strengthens CPS’s international profile, facilitates participation in European research projects, and enhances the Centre’s global competitiveness.
